Wedding reception planning - Music
Ideas | Venues | Band or DJ? | Music | Decoration | Catering | Toastmaster | Itinerary | DJ Costs The music at the wedding reception is one of the most important aspects for our clients. Different people take different approaches, but generally fall into three main categories.
Clients who ask us to work with a play listWe take a list of songs from you and base the music for the wedding reception on your choices. This can work really well when you know the style of music that most of your guests will enjoy. As an example, if we DJ for 4 hours, we know that we will be able to play approximately 80 songs in that time. This is based on playing about 20 songs per hour. Clients who give us a description of the music that they would like to hearSome clients use descriptive terms, such as 'not too cheesy', '80s pop', 'indie & rock', 'classic dance music', 'no birdie song or agadoo'! etc. These descriptions are open to interpretation and can work well because your DJ will have some freedom to react to the response from your guests. A combination of a play list and description Some clients use a combination of the two, which means we reflect your tastes and allow some interpretation along with requests from guests. We are happy to work with any combination of the two approaches, just let us know in advance.
We also don't talk a lot - we prefer to let the music do the talking! |
